I have always suffered from quite dry hands which, as you would expect, get a lot worse in the winter with the cold weather.  Over the years, I have tried countless hand creams in an attempt to solve the problem, most of which have had no effect, or have even caused allergic reactions.

I am currently using two different hand creams, both by Avon, which have been a massive help to my skin.  My hands are no longer dry and feel a lot softer and smoother which I’m obviously very happy about!

Every morning I use Avon Care’s Intensive Moisture Dry Skin SOS Hand Cream (pictured left), which contains rice bran oil and ‘moisturising complex’.  I continue to use the cream throughout the day, usually after I’ve washed my hands with soap or when I’ve been out in the cold, as both of these things are what make my hands dry.  The SOS cream is a rich emollient, so you only need a little bit to cover your hands.  It can take a while to completely rub the cream in, but the massage motion can help to soften the skin.  I swear by this hand cream and have done for a while as it gives excellent results!

I also use the Skin So Soft Soft & Renewed Age-Defying Overnight Corrective Hand Treatment (pictured right) every night before I go to bed.  As you can see, the SSS cream is very different in look/texture to the SOS cream, and I use a lot more of it.  Since the cream is intended to be used overnight, I ensure that the cream leaves a generous coat on the backs of my hands as this is where my skin gets the driest.  Since I’ve been using this lotion, my hands have felt a lot softer and it seems to be doing the trick so I will definitely carry on using it.

Both lotions are delicate on sensitive skin which, for me, is a godsend.
