Paco Rabanne Lady Million Eau de Parfum
3I’m a sucker for fragrances, especially those with pretty bottles, and I take a great deal of pleasure in trying to work out the different notes and layers of scents in my rather large collection of perfumes. So, when I was given the opportunity to review Paco Rabanne’s Lady Million EDP for Fragrance Direct, I happily took up the offer as I’d been wanting to try it for a while.
The perfume comes packaged in an unusual bottle which stands out from the crowd amongst all my other perfume bottles. It’s shaped like a diamond, with a glass, classic cut bottom and eye-catching gold lid, etched with the Lady Million logo. The bottle is designed to ‘make any woman feel a million dollars’, and it definitely has the look of being expensive, but without the price tag. My only issue with the bottle is that its squat shape makes it slightly difficult to handle, but it’s worth it for such pretty packaging.
Lady Million has a very complex combination of notes that combine to create a beautifully rich, yet feminine and sweet scent, which has real power and wow-factor. According to the Fragrance Direct website, the notes are as follows…
Top notes – Raspberry, Amalfi Lemon and Neroli.
Heart notes – Gardenia, African Orange Flower and Jasmine.
Base notes – White Honey, Patchouli and Amber.
Patchouli is one of my favourite scents as it smells heady, sensual and expensive, which really sums up the diamond-inspired story of this perfume.
The real test of a good perfume is how long it lasts, and Lady Million goes all day, revealing each set of notes over the hours for effortless, long-lasting gorgeous scent. As such, it can carry you through from your working day to an evening out, making it a very versatile perfume indeed.
Overall, Lady Million’s lovely appearance and even lovelier scent makes it a wonderful addition to any scented wardrobe. If you’d like to try it for yourself, it is available online from Fragrance Direct, and costs just £28.99 for a 30ml bottle, which is a saving of more than £7.50 – bargain! Or, if you prefer a bigger size, it is available in 50ml for £39.99, which is an even bigger saving of almost £10!
Do you like the sound of Paco Rabanne’s Lady Million?

Sample: ‘L.I.L.Y’ by Stella McCartney
1As you may have gathered by now, I am a sucker when it comes to freebies, so when I saw this fragrance sample advertised on the Boots Samples website, I just had to send away for it. I was expecting a tiny little vial or one of those scented sheets you get in magazines, so I was pleasantly surprised when I received a generous 1.5ml glass spray bottle of Stella McCartney’s new fragrance, L.I.L.Y.
The card which came with the sample says:
L.I.L.Y is a journey through the senses.
It begins with the smell of a spring
morning, dappled sunlight through the
trees, a vision of delicate lily of the
valley. It is the passage of time
across a forest floor.
From this description, I was expecting floral and fresh, and quite rightly this is what I got. The perfume has an initial heady aroma of lily of the valley, which over time fades to a more delicate and light flowery scent – L.I.L.Y obviously has a sophisticated set of notes to it. I was quite impressed with how long the perfume actually lasted too. I applied it in the morning and could still smell it on my skin in the evening.
I don’t usually wear floral perfumes as I prefer ambery scents, but L.I.L.Y. is definitely quite pleasant. I can’t say I’ll be rushing out to buy a full size bottle of this, but I’ll be keeping the sample in my handbag for spring/summer evenings out. For those of you that like floral fragrances though, this is for you, and I think this will become a key scent this year.

LUSH Tuca Tuca Gorilla Perfume
0I first discovered Lush’s Tuca Tuca Gorilla Perfume in store last month when browsing with a friend. I tried out all of the Gorilla Perfumes, but this one really stood out and I fell in love with it, so onto the birthday list it went! Luckily for me, my wish was granted and I was gifted this for my birthday on Tuesday.
Lush’s Gorilla Perfumes come in 12g tubes and are solid perfume sticks made of natural oils and scents, and are designed to melt directly onto the skin when rubbed onto the wrist. Just push up gently from the bottom and apply, easy!
Tuca Tuca has a very sweet, earthy scent, combining vanilla, sandalwood, vetivert, violet leaf and ylang ylang, amongst others. The natural scents are so concentrated that you really only need to use a small amount. I applied a little of this to my wrists this morning and I can still smell it just as strongly now, and I’ve received lots of compliments on it already! In fact, the scent lasts such a long time that you really don’t need to reapply it (which is good for the bank balance as one tube will last for ages), and even after a shower the delicate notes still linger which is lovely.
Another great thing about this perfume is that it is Vegetarian and Vegan friendly, meaning that everybody can enjoy it with a clear conscience!
Lush’s Tuca Tuca Gorilla Perfume reminds me of summer with its raw aroma, and it is the perfect size to pop into your handbag and use as and when you wish.
Which is your favourite Gorilla Perfume?

Christian Lacroix Nuit For Her
0I have a rather large, ever expanding collection of perfumes, and this beautiful scent by Christian Lacroix is one of my all time favourites. Out of all of my perfumes, this is one that gets a lot of compliments!
The perfume is described on its box as:
‘Christian Lacroix Nuit For Her, the provocative women’s fragrance exclusively for Avon.
A forbidden fantasy of intoxicating florals entwined with an elixir of amber and
mysterious midnight musks.‘
I am a big fan of exotic, almost heady scents and Nuit fits the bill with its combination of sweet florals, amber and musk. The perfume is mixed perfectly and all of its notes shine through to create an expensive smelling scent which lasts a long time. If I put this on in the morning, it only fades a little so I can always still smell it after a busy day, which is wonderful!
As well as the fragrance, there are also a body lotion and a shower gel in the Nuit range which smell just as powerful as the fragrance. If you layer the perfume with these two products it is guaranteed to last a lot longer and keep its strength.
The perfume retails at £20 for 50ml, and the body lotion and shower gel are £5 each for 150ml tubes, however, Avon are currently running an offer to get all three items for £20 – bargain! If you’re interested in purchasing, don’t forget you can now order Avon through me! Just visit the ‘Order Avon from Me’ page for more details.
Have you ever tried any Christian Lacroix perfumes? Which is your favourite?
