Real Leather Jackets at New Look
1I was recently approached by New Look with information about their range of real leather jackets, and after seeing what they have to offer I thought it too good not to share! As I’m sure we all know by now, leather is big this season, but a lot of the faux leather and leather look jackets out there at the minute are really rather pricey. New Look, however, are selling a selection of on-trend leather jackets which, for the most part, are really affordable and come in at around the same price as many of the faux leather jackets I’ve seen on the high street.
Buckle Hem Biker Jacket – £69.99 / Faux Fur Collar Jacket – £69.99 / Biker Jacket – £59.99 / Waterfall Jacket – £120.00
There are quite a few real leather jackets available on the site, including a brown version of the Buckle Hem Biker Jacket, but the four above are my personal picks. As a lifelong Edward Scissorhands fan I have a soft spot buckles and straps, so I love the buckles on the Buckle Hem Biker Jacket, as they add a nice bit of edgy detail to a simple design. The asymmetrical zips on all four of the jackets are also a highlight for me as they’re edgy, but flattering, and so popular this season; as is faux fur which looks so glamorous when combined with an oversized collar. The final jacket, the Waterfall, is incredibly pretty and would be perfect for a more sophisticated evening look. The draping is really feminine, and would look beautiful teamed with a winter maxi. If only I could have them all!
Which jacket is your favourite?

Imperial Leather Foamburst Luxurious Body Wash
1I’ve been seeing a lot of adverts lately for Imperial Leather’s Foamburst Luxurious Body Washes, and have been quite curious about them, so when Imperial Leather asked me to review a couple of Foamburst products for them I happily accepted! The range features seven fragrances, and each one has its own eye-catching Genie to represent it…
See what I mean? The two scents I received are Uplifting Lime & Grapefruit, and (one that really suits my blog) Bewitching Blackberry & Wild Fig.
As far as appearance goes, these body washes definitely look the part. I love the contrast of the bright colours on black, and the curved cans emphasise the luxury element. They look fab lined up on my bathroom shelf, and the cans are practical too as the press down top is easy to use and prevents too much gel coming out, which is essential with these!
When I first saw that I’d been sent Uplifting Lime & Grapefruit, I was slightly dubious as I’m not usually a fan of citrus bath and shower products – they remind me too much of washing up liquid! This one is actually quite nice though, as the zestiness of the lime is cut through with an earthy undertone of grapefruit, which makes for a refreshing morning shower. I think my fiancé would like this one as the scent is quite masculine.
Bewitching Blackberry & Wild Fig is easily my favourite as it smells rich and beautiful. I’m a sucker for sweet scents, and the Autumnal fruity fragrance of blackberry and fig has a hint of vanilla running through it that adds a touch of decadence. This one’s perfect for a pampering evening bath, which is just what you need during these cold months.
The scent of both Foambursts also lingers on the skin for a long time after use, which is what I look for in a good body wash, so these definitely pass the test.
Foamburst is a very apt name, too. The body wash leaves the can as a pretty coloured gel (green and purple to match the cans), but when rubbed turns into a gorgeously silky soft white foam, which feels lovely and luxurious on the skin. You only need a small amount of gel (about the size of a £2 coin) to produce enough foam to cover most or your body, which is really impressive! You can get 40 washes out of one can as well, which is absolutely worth the money.
The can also states that the foam is great for shaving, and though I haven’t tried it yet, I’m definitely going to be using it when I next shave my legs. I currently use a gel to foam shaving foam which doesn’t smell that nice, so it’ll be nice to use something a bit nicer! It’d be good for men to shave with too, I imagine.
Imperial Leather’s Foamburst Luxurious Body Washes usually retail for around £3.50, which is well worth it if you want a luxury shower product that goes a long way, but they’re currently on offer in Boots for £2.00, and on Ocado for £1.99, which is even better!

What I Wore: Denim and Wolves
4Today’s outfit is a lot more urban-inspired than I usually wear, and features a stylish statement piece from Jennifer Hope Clothing. Jennifer Hope Wheeler, a streetwear designer, started her range after leaving university and now sells her unisex clothing in Topshop’s flagship store in London, as well as in Topshop Bristol Cabot Circus, surf/skate/street store Two Seasons, and a couple of independent shops.
Jennifer Hope Denim Wolf Waistcoat / Jennifer Hope Hope Hat / Primark Long Sleeve Top / New Look Black Skinny Jeans / Dr Martens 1460 W Purple Shimmer Boots / Primark, Gifted Stackable Bracelets / Rings & Tings Long Bar Necklace
For the past few months I’ve been looking for a waistcoat to wear over simple tops, but finding one was proving difficult, so when I was sent this denim wolf waistcoat by Jennifer Hope I couldn’t wait to style it. I also received a Hope beanie hat, which is obviously perfect for this time of year. My partner and I spent this afternoon browsing the local shopping streets and going for an Autumn wander around the park, so something casual and warm seemed suitable, and the waistcoat and hat are definitely that.
The waistcoat is made from thick, high quality denim, and is scattered with a few rips and tears for a more edgy look. The back is what really makes a statement though, as it features an on-trend wolf print which is stitched onto the full length of the waistcoat. I love having unique pieces like this in my wardrobe as they add quirky detail to plain outfits, and look effortlessly good.
I teamed the waistcoat with a basic black long sleeve top from Primark, a pair of black skinny jeans from New Look, my favourite pair of Dr Martens and the Jennifer Hope beanie hat. I also added a simple necklace and a stack of bracelets for some extra detail.
To browse Jennifer Hope’s full range of clothing, you can visit her online shop here.
What do you think of this look?

Styling UGG Boots
4Think of UGG boots and the classic short chestnut boots probably come to mind, but as I discovered when browsing the John Lewis website recently, UGG actually have a much wider range of boots and shoes that would suit a variety of looks and styles, both for day and night. Two particular pairs of boots from the range caught my eye – Maddie and Dandylion – so I’ve put together two on-trend looks to show how versatile UGGs can be, and how they could be worn this season.
Dress Down
Boohoo Skeleton Body Oversized Tee / John Lewis Full Length Leggings / New Look Textured Open Front Cardigan / UGG Maddie Boots / Zatchels Jacky Tsai Skulls Satchel
The monochrome look of UGG’s Maddie Boots inspired this casual, daytime look. White on black always screams skulls and skeletons to me, so I teamed an oversized skeleton tee and skull satchel with a pair of staple black leggings, and a long fluffy cardigan which is perfect for this Autumn/Winter.
The boots are made of suede and lined with faux fur, so they’d be really cosy and warm. I also love the biker buckle detail on the side.
Dress Up
F&F 80 Denier Opaque Tights / Kaliko Silk Tunic Dress / Radley Grosvenor Medium Flap Shoulder Bag / Kenneth Jay Lane Statement Disc Necklace / UGG Dandylion Ankle Boots
UGG boots are usually considered more of a casual type of footwear, but these gorgeous Dandylion Ankle Boots could easily be dressed up for an evening meal out, or even a work Christmas party. I really wanted the boots to be the highlight of this outfit, so I chose a simple but classy silk tunic dress to go with them. Throw on a pair of black tights, a black shoulder bag and a statement necklace and you’re good to go!
I absolutely adore the shape of these Dandylions. The heel, rounded toe and curved folded top are just so elegant. I want them!
How would you style a pair of UGG boots?

Hard Candy Cosmetics
0I was recently given the opportunity, by an online discount make up store called Xtras, to choose some Hard Candy products to review. I’d seen Hard Candy online before and had been wanting to try them out, mainly because their nail polishes come with a cute little ring, so I made my selection and everything arrived within a day or two, which is extremely quick service these days!
I received four Hard Candy items in total; Split Personality Cream Eyeshadow Duo in ‘Psycho’, Just Nails Nail Polish in ‘Mr Right’, Just Nails Matte Top Coat, and World Balmination Tinted Lip Balm in ‘Good Girl’. I must admit, as a nail polish hoarder I was extremely tempted to only order nail products, but I thought I’d give some of the rest of the range a go too, and I’m pleased I did.
Just Nails Nail Polish in ‘Mr Right’ and Just Nails Matte Top Coat
‘Mr Right’ is a gorgeous deep blue shade with a delicate shimmer finish, that looks really elegant on the nails. Though the brush is a bit smaller than I’d like, the polish still applies easily and evenly, and gives completely opaque coverage in two coats. My only real issue with it is that it takes a while to dry, so I managed to smudge it whilst impatiently applying the matte top coat too early, but at least I’ve learnt for next time. The ring that comes with the polish is a fab little bonus too. I was half expecting it to be too small for me and not very good quality, but it’s actually nice and chunky and fits well.
I’d been looking for an affordable matte top coat for ages so choosing this one was a no brainer for me. Unfortunately there’s no ring with it, but the product inside the bottle makes up for that. It applies smoothly with very little streaking, dries a lot quicker than the polish, and as you’d hope, gives a matte finish. Luckily, the formula is fairly thin too, so it doesn’t look or feel too thick. I only applied it on my ring finger as an accent nail so you can see the difference.
At £1.99 each, Hard Candy’s nail products are a real bargain, and I’d definitely recommend them if you’re willing to wait a few extra minutes for your nails to dry!
World Balmination Lip Balm in ‘Good Girl’
Hard Candy’s World Balmination Lip Balm comes packaged in a basic twist up tube, but the packaging is really pretty, so it stands out from the abundance of blacks and silvers in my make up drawer. I do have one little problem with the packaging, though. For some reason, quite a lot of the product sticks out over the top of the tube, even before it has been twisted up (as you can see in the picture), so it’s hard to get the lid on without damaging the balm, unless you have a really steady hand. Not ideal!
The first thing I noticed when I opened the balm was its scent. It smells like a mixture of vanilla and lemon, and even tastes sweet, so if you’re a fan of scented lip products as I am, then this is definitely for you. The balm applies nicely, and a has a creamy texture that isn’t greasy, so it feels nice on the lips and has a long-lasting moisturising effect. I applied it this morning, and even after my Sunday lunch my lips still felt lovely! It’s also very slightly tinted with a light peachy pink shade, and though it doesn’t add much colour to the lips, it does emphasise your natural lip colour.
At £1.99 it’s a definite thumbs up from me.
Split Personality Cream Eyeshadow Duo in ‘Psycho’
I don’t tend to wear eyeshadow that often (I’m more of a thick black eyeliner kinda girl), but when I spotted this I thought I’d give it a go as one of the shadows in the duo is, you guessed it, black! The other is white, and both have a bit of shimmer to them.
The duo has a cream eyeshadow at either end of the stick, which sits in the screw lid that covers each applicator. The applicators themselves are soft and spongy, and seem to be loaded on a spring, so they move and mould to the shape of your eyelid nicely, making application smooth and easy. The two colours compliment each other well, and make for an impressive smoky eye that’s quick to do.
If these shades aren’t for you, there are plenty of other colours to choose from, and they cost £1.99 each, which is £3.00 cheaper than the RRP.

What I Wore: Dip Hem and Faux Fur
4During one of my recent Twitter browses, I noticed that fashion brand AngelEye were looking for bloggers to style some of their pieces, so I got in touch and they kindly sent me a jacket to feature. I actually already own a really pretty dress by AngelEye which I wore constantly throughout the summer (you can see it in the background of my nail photo in this post), so I couldn’t wait to see whether their Autumn/Winter items were just as lovely!
AngelEye Cropped Jacket / Everything5Pounds Dip Hem Dress / Primark Leather Look Leggings / Dr Martens Regina Boots / Custom-made Everlong Necklace
When I received the jacket, I instantly fell in love. Based on the photo I saw of it online, I thought it was going to be fairly flimsy and more for ‘show’ than functional, but I was wrong. It is made of thick, wool-like fabric so does a very good job at keeping you warm. In fact, today was one of the coldest days of the year so far and I wore this jacket over a sleeveless dress, but I was kept nice and toasty, and didn’t feel any chill whatsoever. The jacket also has a silky lining and wide faux fur collar, which is my favourite thing about it as it looks and feels so luxurious, and is absolutely perfect for this season.
The cut of the jacket is also really flattering. It is cropped, but fitted at the waist so even over chunky winter knits it gives a nice shape. The asymmetrical zip is also bang on trend, and the pocket flaps add a bit of extra detail.
The jacket is extremely versatile, as it can be worn casually, but also styled up for a formal or evening look. Today I wore it with a dip hem dress, leather look leggings and my heeled Dr Martens boots, but it would also look amazing with a pencil skirt and stilettos for a classic office look, with skinny jeans and a pair of black Converse for a day-to-day look, or worn over a gorgeous little dress on a winter night out. An all-round fab little jacket that I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of this season!
To view AngelEye’s full range of clothing, you can visit their website here, or follow them on Facebook and Twitter. I’ll also be launching an exciting AngelEye fashion giveaway within the next day or so, so keep an eye out for that!

French Connection Wishlist
0For years my personal style has featured a lot of black, so I’ve really been embracing this season’s trends for black and the leather look, as they’re letting me revive my teenage love of the Gothic, but with a bit more sophistication. In my search for new clothes to add to my hoard of black, I have been browsing the internet, and have found that French Connection’s current range has some amazing pieces that would look right at home in my wardrobe. So, I thought I’d put together a little wishlist featuring a selection of my favourite French Connection clothing.
T-Solar Dress / Vienna Dress / Judy Jegs Jeggings / Judy Jegs Pencil Skirt / Riot PU Jacket
These two French Connection dresses are fine examples of what, for me, a little black dress should be. They’re classic in their shape and fit, but have a little something extra that really makes a statement. The T-Solar’s leather panels and pleated skirt are bang on trend and give it a real edge, and the Vienna dress’s beautiful sheer lace sleeves and waist detail look so elegant. Both dresses would be perfect for the upcoming party season, teamed with a contrasting necklace and heels.
The Judy Jegs Jeggings and Pencil Skirt are simple pieces that could easily become wardrobe staples for me. Their simplicity means they could be worn to work without looking too over the top, making them the ideal way to bring the leather look into the office. Having said that, they could also both be dressed up with a nice top, your favourite jewellery and a gorgeous bag for a glamorous evening look.
Last but not least, the Riot PU Jacket would be great for those days when you want to wear something a bit brighter, whilst maintaining that on trend edge. It could be thrown over a colourful bodycon dress or even a t-shirt and jeans, and still look brilliant. The cropped fit, exposed zips and emphasised shoulders are also really modern, which I love.
You can find these pieces from French Connection online at divinetrash.co.uk.
