F&F Paper Doll Party Style Challenge
2Earlier this week I received a lovely little surprise in the post from F&F at Tesco. I had no idea what the parcel was going to be, and when I opened it I found this prettily wrapped box, containing another, smaller box with a little clue on the front – the hashtag #FFPaperDollParty. Once I opened the second box, all was revealed through a note explaining what the parcel was about…
F&F are running a styling competition for fashion bloggers, and each blogger has received a personalised paper doll with a selection of key pieces from the F&F Christmas Collection to style their doll with. Bloggers must then share their Paper Doll style using the #FFPaperDollParty hashtag, to be in with a chance of winning an all-expenses paid Luxury F&F Experience. How exciting is that?!
The box also contained yet another box, which had four beautifully iced fashion-inspired biscuits inside. These were from London company Biscuiteers, and they’re just lovely!
I really can’t wait to start styling my paper doll, so keep an eye out on blog and Twitter for the different looks that I create!

Winter Wardrobe Wishlist
2Exciting news, Fashionistas – musicMagpie have long been helping us make money from our old CDs, DVDs, games and technology, and they’ve recently launched a new service which means you can now get cash for clothes as well! All you have to do is tell them what you want to sell by entering it into the ‘Get Value’ box, giving a few details about the brand, size, colour and suchlike, and then they’ll make you an offer on the item. Then, once you’ve entered everything you want to sell, you just have to send your items to them and they’ll pay you for them. Sending everything to musicMagpie is really easy, as you can send it boxed for free, or if you’re selling more than 25 items they will come and collect them for you, also for free. There are also four ways to get paid – bank transfer, cheque, e-Vouchers or a donation to charity. Easy peasy.
Now, I’m sure I’m not the only fashion fan who sees this as the perfect opportunity to clear space for new clothes, whilst also making the money to pay for them! I recently dropped a dress size or two, so I have plenty of clothes that I need to get rid of, and I can’t wait to replace them all. I’ve spent many an evening lately browsing the net for some brand new, gorgeous pieces to add to my collection, and I’ve found a few which I absolutely love, so here is my 2013 Winter Wardrobe Wishlist.
Internacionale Black Fur Collar Biker Jacket / Aura Que VELA Handknit Banana Yarn Snood / boohoo PU Sleeve Marl Knit Cardigan / ASOS London Rebel Studded Heel Shoe Boots / Thomas Sabo Sterling Silver Raven Pendant / River Island Black Lace Belted Maxi Skirt / boohoo Faux Fur Mittens / All Saints Reflection Boots
As I’ve mentioned before, the Autumn/Winter season this year is all about black for me, with the odd splash of colour. I’m becoming obsessed with mixing statement pieces with something simple, as well as different fabrics and textures to create interesting looks. I love the combination of leather, lace, faux fur, metal and knits in the pieces above and I want them all.
What would you buy with the money you could make from musicMagpie?

January Sales Haul
3Since Christmas it has been January Sales galore, both on the high street and on the internet, and I (along with millions of other shoppers, I’m sure) couldn’t resist a browse. My main aim was to hunt out a couple of pairs of shoes suitable for Spring/Summer, as well as a few items of clothing. I prefer to relax with my family on Boxing Day, rather than go shopping, but on January 27th I braved it and went into town, but soon gave up as there were far, far too many people for my liking. So, that evening I sat down with my laptop, a box of chocolates and a cup of tea and browsed the web to my heart’s content. I must say, I wasn’t that impressed by the quality of the sales this year, but luckily I succeeded in my shoe and clothes buying mission! I managed to resist binging on make up and perfume gift sets in the Superdrug and Boots sales, but I did get a couple of beauty accessories.
Donnay Purple Canvas Ballet Pumps – £3.50 (£3.49 saving) – SportsDirect.com
Skechers Sunset Pink and Black Canvas Shoes – £20.00 (£14.99 saving) – SportsDirect.com
Dr Martens Aldgate Floral Canvas Shoes – £30.00 (£15.00 saving) – Dr Martens
Purple Metallic Manicure Set – £0.99p (saving unknown) – Superdrug
Unwind Cherry Stone Relaxation Pillow – £0.99p (saving unknown) – Superdrug
Purple Heart Knit Dress – £10.00 (£4.99 saving) – Store Twenty One

A rather humble haul I know, but I managed to get everything I wanted! What did you get in the sales this year?

Christmas Shopping with TruffleShuffle
2Christmas isn’t Christmas until those heart-warming, ‘Holidays are Coming’ Coca Cola adverts appear on TV, wouldn’t you agree? To me, they’ve always signified the start of the festive season and are full of nostalgia, and in my search for Christmassy clothing this year I came across this lovely Coca Cola T-Shirt on the TruffleShuffle website, which I was very kindly gifted by the folks at TruffleShuffle! TruffleShuffle are an online retro T-Shirt company who stock a myriad of kitsch and quirky designs, and they currently have a fantastic range of Christmas themed T-Shirts, jumpers and gifts available. Their customer service is fantastic too… If you order before 4pm you can have your items the next day, and you will always receive a sweet or two in your parcel!
The T-Shirt I was sent is the Coca Cola Santa Sparkling Holidays T-Shirt, which retails for £19.99. The tee is made of soft grey cotton (90%), and it is extremely comfortable and surprisingly warm, as the fabric isn’t too flimsy. It is from the ladies range so it fits well in all the right places, without being too tight, and it is long in length which is great for me as it doesn’t come up short and I am quite tall!
The design on the front of the T-Shirt is absolutely gorgeous, featuring Coca Cola’s vintage-style Santa, merrily enjoying a bottle of Coca Cola… (Don’t you think Coke tastes so much better from a cold glass bottle?) Santa in his bright red costume is such an iconic figure, and instantly recognisable as part of Coca Cola’s branding, making this T-Shirt really stand out from the crowd of typical Christmas prints. The design is also printed to a very high quality, so it won’t start to peel or crack in a hurry, and the image is really bold and clear.
This T-Shirt (and the rest of TruffleShuffle’s own range) is available in a wide range of sizes (X Small to X Large), and they’re all currently in stock, so if you fancy a Coca Cola T-Shirt for yourself you can grab one here now, whatever the size!
Just to give you an idea of what else TruffleShuffle has to offer this festive season, here are just a few of my favourite Christmas themed items from TruffleShuffle, which would all make fantastic, affordable Christmas gifts!
– Coca Cola Holidays Are Coming Truck Sweater – £29.99 –
– Vintage Style Christmas Robin Necklace – £11.99 –
– A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens E-Reader Cover – £14.99 –
– Limited Edition Retro Christmas Lights Charm Bracelet – £19.99 –
– Snowman Christmas Slouch Scoop Neck T-Shirt – £24.99 –
– Fairytale Snowglobe Necklace – £13.99 –
– Oscar the Grouch I Hate Christmas T-Shirt – £19.99 –
Aren’t they gorgeous? I really, really want both of the necklaces pictured above! Is there anything from TruffleShuffle on your Christmas list this year?
Happy shopping!

New Look Denim Competition Entry: Bonfire Night Outfit
5I was recently contacted about a really fun fashion competition, which is being run by New Look and Sparkle Fashion Blog and focuses on New Look’s new collection of fabulous jeans. As it happens, New Look is one of the only shops on the high street where I can buy jeans as I am 5’10” and they actually make jeans long enough to fit me, so I jumped at the chance of entering! After all, the grand prize is £200 and a pair of jeans, and a pair of jeans for nine runners up! The idea of the competition is to create an outfit for any occasion using items from the New Look online store, with a pair of sexy jeans as the centrepiece. Once you’ve decided on your items you then need to blog your look and finalise your entry on this Sparkle Fashion Blog post.
As I’ve mentioned before, Autumn is my favourite time of year. I love the gorgeous colours, the sharp coldness of the Autumn sun, and the massive amount of fun that can be had, especially on Halloween and Bonfire Night! As such, I decided to put together a seasonal outfit which would be suitable to wear on Bonfire Night, whilst standing in a dark field or garden, warming yourself next to the flames whilst watching fireworks and eating jacket potatoes and toffee apples. My idea of a happy Autumn evening Here is what I came up with…
Shop this Look:
– Purple Skinny Jeans (£16.99) – Black and Purple Stripe Raglan Knitted Jumper (£12.99)-
– Black Skull Print Heavyweight Skinny Scarf (£7.99) – Black Studded Biker Wellies (£19.99) –
– Pieces Knitted Hat (£10.00, was £21.99) – Colourpop Jade Nail Polish (£1.99) –
Total: £69.95
So far this Autumn I have lived in skinny jeans, so the obvious choice of jeans for me was this skinny pair in my favourite colour. I absolutely adore the deep plum shade and I’d love a pair for myself! I chose the simple black knitted jumper to go with the jeans so that it wouldn’t detract from them, but compliment them with the matching purple striped sleeves. I actually tried this very jumper on a few weeks ago and it’s so snuggly and well-fitting – perfect for a chilly night spent outside.
As a nod towards this season’s trend for all things Gothic, I added the stunning skull print scarf, and for extra warmth and to pick up on the turquoise shade running through the scarf I included the knitted hat. Purple and turquoise are two of my favourite colours and I love to wear them together – I think they compliment rather than clash, and they make for a fun combination!
Bonfire Night often involves standing in a soggy field or garden, so I thought a pair of wellies would be ideal footwear for this look. I found this amazing pair of Biker Wellies on New Look’s website which transform the typical frumpy welly into something a little more chic. I really like how they look like boots so can be dressed up, and they add an extra hint of Gothic on top of the scarf.
Last but not least, for an extra splash of colour and glamour, I chose a beautifully bright Jade nail polish for the finishing touch which I think rounds the outfit off nicely.
I hope you like my entry! If you’d like to enter yourself, you can find out how here. You can also follow the competition and all the entries on Twitter using the #DenimComp hashtag!
Good luck and fingers crossed!
